Heise's History

Heise Wins 300

Winning seasons, region championships and a soccer program that is as close as family are all things that characterize Coach Kevin Heise and the program that he has transformed into a Midlands and state powerhouse over the last 20 years at Brookland-Cayce HS. Since his arrival in 1991, Heise has led the Bearcats to a pair of Class 3A Lower State Championships, six semifinals, 10 region titles, and 17 Top 10 rankings, while also advancing to the state playoffs 18 consecutive seasons.

A 1989 graduate of BCHS, Heise has amassed a 334-139-19 (.698) record since he took over the program in 1991. Heise, a lifetime resident of Cayce and third-generation Brookland-Cayce alum, actually started his affiliation with the Bearcat Soccer program in 1983-84 as a member of the B-C Junior Varsity team in the 7th grade. That initiation has now spanned 27 years of involvement in B-C Soccer.

Heise ranks in the Top 10 among active coaches in South Carolina in terms of career victories and is one of only nine prep coaches in the Palmetto State to eclipse the 300-win plateau. For his efforts, Heise has received the following coaching honors:

Heise has also been instrumental in the promotion of high school soccer via his active involvement with the South Carolina High School Soccer Coaches Association having served as the SCHSSCA President and various other Executive Board positions the past decade. He currently serves as the Assistant State Soccer Chairman for the SCHSSCA.

In 1993, Heise spearheaded an effort to bring classic league soccer to Cayce-West Columbia with the advent of the Congaree Rapid Soccer Association. Heise currently serves as the President and Director of Coaching for the club and has been instrumental in the growth of CRSA as a viable youth soccer club in the Downtown Columbia and West Metro area.
