Academy & Classic Soccer Mission / Club Code of Ethics

CRSA promises to continue to expand as increasing numbers of young soccer athletes commit to a higher level of play. As the popularity of soccer increases nationwide, select soccer provides an important and enjoyable avenue for younger athletes in the Greater Columbia area to develop better skills.

Classic Soccer Objectives

  1. Best Classic Teams in the Midlands - To develop the best possible Academy and Select level soccer teams in the Midlands.
  2. Excellent Coaching Staff Objective - To recruit and maintain the best qualified and committed coaching staff in Columbia for all age groups with emphasis given to high school coaches in our desired geographical area. CRSA feels that our strongest attribute must be a quality coaching staff that identifies with our immediate community.
  3. Player Improvement Objective - To select the best soccer players available to support our mission. Also, to provide soccer opportunities to players in our geographic area.
  4. Expansion Objective - To help expand our relationship with the Lexington County Recreational League (Pineview-Pine Grove and Cayce-West Columbia affiliates), so that they can serve as the major source of players for the CRSA Classic Soccer Teams.
  5. Player Selection Objective - To selectively attract soccer players from outside the central Columbia area on an as-needed basis to support our mission.
  6. Excellent Soccer Environment Objective - To provide a soccer environment which will allow players and coaches to continue to develop their technical and tactical soccer skills, team skills, work ethic, and social skills.
  7. Management Objective - To develop the necessary management structure for CRSA to achieve its mission.
  8. Facilities Objective - To develop the soccer facilities necessary to support team practice, league play, and eventually tournament play in order to accomplish our mission. Cooperative efforts with Richland School District One, Lexington School District Two, and the Lexington County Recreation and Aging Commission, and River Bluff Baptist Church in Cayce have been at the top of our targeted facilities list in the past and for the future.
  9. Cost Control Objective - To keep the cost of playing at CRSA at a reasonable level. CRSA strives to provide as much "bang for the buck" as any club in the Palmetto State.
  10. Parent Involvement Objective - To encourage parent involvement at all classic soccer functions, including board meetings, games, tournaments, etc., to improve parent communications, rapport, and support for CRSA.
  11. Expansion Objective - To double the number of individuals playing classic soccer between 2003 and the year 2010 in our club. Also, we would like to have a balance between Lexington County and Richland County as our base membership with added facilities in the Cayce-West Columbia area. Since this initiative was established in 2003, CRSA has already met this objective heading towards the Fall 2007 season.
  12. College Scholarship Objective - To work with college coaches in order to get CRSA players exposure to better their chances for college scholarships. CRSA will also sponsor a College Night each fall to advise high school student-athletes on the expectations and choices available for their future.
