SCSOCCER.COM: Weekly individual statistics to debut on April 22, 2012

DUE TO THE SPRING BREAK SCHEDULE, THIS HAS BEEN DELAYED UNTIL SUNDAY, APRIL 22.

Individual statistics for field players and goalkeepers will begin on Sunday, April 22.

Offensive statistics for Points (P), Goals (G), and Assists (A), and goalkeeper statistics for Goals Against Average (GAA), Goals Allowed (GA), Minutes Played (MP), Saves (SV), and Shutouts (SO) are the categories. Be sure to include how many matches a player has appeared (MP).

Remember, the formula for calculating offensive stats is: 2 points for a goal; 1 point for an assist; i.e., a player that has played in 8 matches with 10 goals and 2 assists would have 22 points. The minimum number of points to qualify is 20.

For goalkeepers, the goals against average is calculated by the number of goals multiplied by time (80', high school regulation) and divided by the number of minutes played by that goalkeeper in the net: 12 goals allowed * 80 minutes / 1,000 minutes played = 0.96 GAA. The maximum GAA is 1.30 and the minimum number of minutes played is 800.
