The South Carolina High School Soccer Coaches Association adopted the following criteria in the selection of the Palmetto State coaching representative for the McDonald's All-American High School Soccer Games which were held at Charleston's Blackbaud Stadium on Daniel Island in June of 2002-2003 and were managed by Sports Events International of Charleston.

• Overall Winning Record in High School Soccer
• Additional Coaching Honors in South Carolina High School Soccer
• Additional Coaching Honors Nationally
• Positive Contribution to the improvement of High School Soccer in South Carolina
